Timberland work boots are coming back in style. Although you see most construction men around NYC still wearing them, they are coming back as a winter style for the "non" workmen. Wear them with dark skinny jeans and you will be super hipster stylish!

Instax Mini 7S Instant Camera
I won this last year at a B&H raffle. It has been collecting dust on my shelf ever since, but out of boredom I took it out. The pictures are really cool--like a modern Polaroid (oh how you are missed). Unfortunately, a roll of film is around $30 so the camera itself is probably not the smartest investment. Nevertheless, a fun toy for people who love cameras.

DUANE MICHALS!
Legendary photographer (hello closed eyes) Duane Michals came to my Towards a Critical Vocab. class as a guest lecturer. He was totally awesome and friendly and even showed us his most recent work (that's not even published yet).
Photo World: Oh Terry
Terry Richardson fails to disappoint with astonishing photo critics, yet again. For Candy Magazine (wtf is that?) he shot James Franco in drag. Now, for all of you NYU kids who stalk him in the Washington Square Starbucks on "campus," you know that this creepily looks NOTHING like him. Good work Richardson (or your stylist?)
Mud Truck Promotion
Everyone needs adderall coffee to survive class. Up until tomorrow (the 7th) the Mud Truck is selling coffee for a dollar! Go get yours now. The closest truck to NYU is on Astor Place.

No Tickets To Day Glow/Sick Of Butter?
Come to CHOICE Kitchen & Cocktails located at 380 3rd Avenue (at 27th St.)--a mere four blocks from Gramercy Green. Tonight will be a nice college crowd, so definitely roll through if you are looking for something fun.
If you are the type who just wants to chill at an apartment party tonight (maybe a little roof fun as well) come out and support "Killer Weekend"--an original film by NYU Tisch Kids. It is a $7 donation at the door--located at 511 East 6th Street.

Obsessed: Obey Ring For Men
This ring is only like $30! A very good deal. You can get it at the Obey website or at Urban Outfitters.
Pendleton Jacquard Hoodie
Check out this new Pendleton hoodie. Although a bit pricey (around $200 at retail stores like Urban Outfitters), this hoodie will definitely keep you warm. The designs are cool and the material is so comfortable. The only downside? The crazy patterns will definitely be noticed in pictures and the streets--not one of those coats you can get away with ALWAYS wearing.
The Affordable Art Fair
Check it out this weekend! I went last year and there was some really amazing work. Of course only the good shit is expensive and hence "unaffordable" but it's still inspiring to see new artwork out there. Definitely go. Students get a discount to view the private show.
Saturday Fun At The MoMA
If you're not trapped in the library or at work today, go visit the MoMA and see Matisse: Radical Invention, 1913-1917.
Here are the times: Sundays 10:30am–5:30pm, Mondays 10:30am–5:30pm, Wednesdays 10:30am–5:30pm, Thursdays 10:30am–5:30pm, Fridays 10:30am–8pm, Saturdays 10:30am–5:30pmThrough Oct 11.
Do Not Use Campus Cash In The Bobst Vending Machines!
Yeah, you heard right. It will eat up your credit because NYU wants your money. The worst part is, trying to get that credit redeemed. By the time you get your $2.50 back, you could have graduated and sent your kids to NYU. This has been happening for so long to so many people.
Get your dollar bills ready.

Chaos And Classicism At The Guggenheim Museum!
Tonight marks the opening of Chaos and Classicism: Art in France, Italy, and Germany, 1918-1936.
Check it out at the Guggenheim! They have original works by Picasso and Matisse...you're lying if you don't think that's cool.
Friday nights students get in for free so go with friends! If anyone knows the architecture of the Guggenheim they would know that pre-gaming may not be such a bad idea. Might be fun to walk up the swirly floor tipsy! Either way, go see it!
Food For The Starving Artist
Located conveniently on St. Marks Place, 2 Bros offers the best slice for ONLY A DOLLAR. There is no catch. For $2.75 you can get two slices and a can of soda. They also have other deals as well. This has always been a favorite place of mine and not just because it is mad cheap--it's actually really good as well. Unfortunately, they are not open at all hours of the night so you need to go elsewhere when you are craving that drunk slice at 3am.
Pre Drinks At Asian Pub
Located at 35 Cooper, this place is a fun bar to get cheap drinks. During happy hour the drink menu is only $4. They are very easy on IDs. There is also a large outside seating room.
Caution: Don't eat the food unless you wanna chill at the toilet all night. Perfect place to bringunderage friends who come and visit you.
See you there!

Get Your Copy Of This Semester's ISO Magazine
Tonight, the ISO Magazine club launches their new issue at 6 pm in the Dean's Conference Room on the 12th Floor of 721 Broadway. If you are around campus, come by! Magazines will be on the 8th Floor of Tisch and in Student Affairs. Congrats guys!
LI/NJ NYU Kids Who Need Chopped Salad for Every Meal Listen Up!
Your favorite chopped salad place is back, but with a different name? Waverly Gourmet was caged up for the past few months, infuriating everyone. Now they are back with a new owner and will now be called Metro Cafe. I hope they realize there is a chain of cafes with same name, but whatever. Let's pray they have our favorite chopped salads again.
Fill up that campus cash.
What's Going On In NYC This Weekend?
Check out Butter tomorrow night! I definitely recommend it for those who haven't been in a while, or at all. For those who have been going since they were underage want something else, check out Day Glow at Webster Hall located on 125 east 11th St (right by the NYU Freshman dorm Third North). DJ Berrie will be playing with an appearance of everyone's favorite Devil, which apparently only makes sense if you've ever rolled in Acapulco on Spring Break.
**Be ID cautious at Webster Hall (they will take it and laugh in your face). Butter might be tough too if you are not part of an event, but unlikely they will take it.
Bed Stu Rover Baggy Boot
Bed Stu newest boot can be found at Urban Outfitters for $148 (you can probably find them cheaper elsewhere too!)
They are a good boot for the winter and will look the best paired with dark jeans.

Good Shopping For The Ultimate Poser
For all you NYU kids still wearing your Abercrombie and J.Crew outfits, check out the Brooklyn flea market to transform yourself to urban chic. Seriously, this place is cool for great finds that most of your friends will probably not already have.
This makes a great weekend activity.
The flea market is located on 176 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn (obviously). Hopstop it for those people who are afraid to leave the island.

Who The Hell Is Lisbeth Salander?
If you want to be unique, which all of us NYU kids live to be, ditch the tattoo girl that you see everyone and they're grandma reading on the subway. Pick up Perfume by Suskind and follow the life of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille--a total sicko. This is an insane murder story that can definitely be done in a few sittings.
Tip #1 On How To Make NYU Feel Like A Real College: Graffiti Party
Going to school in NYC sometimes always lacks a true "college" vibe. This is a good way to pretend like you are actually part of a community on a campus. Find someone with a cool rooftop and tell all of your friends to wear white T-Shirts. Buy fabric markers and give them out at the door. Then pretend like you are actually in a dirty frat house with neon paint and white covered walls.
Kudos to Karlee, Zoe, & Gretchen.
Juliet
Juliet is located on 539 West 21st.
It's always a trek going all the way over to the west side, especially if you are an east villager--deeming this night out cab worthy. This "supper club" definitely gives you the scene that most clubs try to emulate. However, there are long lines and a strict policy on IDs. I was lucky enough to go with people who had a table and were VIP. If you have an opportunity to go like a baller then do it. If not, don't waste your time and money. Girls, your IDs will get taken. Boys, you better have thick wallets and an over abundance of ridiculously beautiful ladies.
